"Asking why only enhances the minds knowledge to the root cause, with no questions there's no answers"
- What does it mean to analyze?
- It means to observe something carefully. To analyze a problem is to read through it and try to figure it out. It means to break something down piece by piece and explain what it means or what you think it means. We break thing down for us to understand what is going on in the issue. To get to the root cause of why things are happening the way they are doing. In the process of looking into the research you get to understand more of the issue where it is coming from, how it all started and tactics that have been done to try and prevent from these issues arising even higher then they where. Analyzing opens the mind of a person, to new ideas and perspectives. Examine methodically and in detail the constitution or structure of, typically for purposes of explanation and interpretation. In the process of analyzing ideas are created that change a persons perspective and create movements.
- What is bias?
- Bias is prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair. Bias is everywhere, on the media, the newspapers, and the peoples comments, peoples knowledge. Everything one learns it is only a bias added to what their ideas create. We often get brainwashed with the messages that we all receive in the media. People are addicted to the medias drama, they get hold on it when they see something that seems "Juicy." Some things that the media engenders and presents is only the wrong of the people and never the wrong. That leads to the people make various assumptions. Usually those assumptions are not the very nicest comments that could be told. But only created because the media presents the media presents the negative of a ceratin group of people; when I mean group of people I do not only mean people of different races but organizations, activist, etc.
- What is social, political, historical context?
- The social context is that the society is the one being affected by the choices the people in office, the politicians that come connected to being political due to the historical context of where everything started as well. In many communities in Chicago, many where known to be suburbs way back in the days. Many changes happened due to the population and mixed group of people that came to live into different areas of the communities. We live in communities that are food deserts that have only increased health issues in the communities and nothing is being done. People know that communities such as little village/north lawn dale are labeled low income communities who take the hits, meaning risk there health than those in suburbs. There are no stores near by the community that carry healthy food that are in walking distance. Many people in these communities do not have enough money to be able to get transportation, even riding the bus. Historically, those of less money have always been put last, never where they ever first.
- What is an intellectual?
- Being an intellectual is another form of presenting form of knowledgeable. In an intellectualism in my opinion is not someone that exactly goes to school and receives a paper that says one has learned much more in college, at a college lever, where the world presents itself to be on that level. I believe an intellectual is someone who knows enough about their community and the people in it. The changes that must be done to make the community a better place, a just place to be. Someone that hold knowledge is not just the one that holds the certificate if a graduate. Sometime those who have the certificate are not knowledgeable at all. An intellectual has the ability to open his or her mind to the people to different ideas and opinions. Listens to everything every side has to hear, not the only one that he or she wants to hear to make the decisions that must be made. An intellectual knows how to share his or her ideas without being bias and making the crowd lean toward his/her side, but let the people choose the side they believe they belong to, meaning being able to present enough information for the people.
